One Year!! (Picture overload and kind of long)

Can you believe it? My little princess is one year old!! First some stats about Juliet. She weighs 21 pounds (50%) is 29 inches long (65%) and her head is 17.9 inches around (75%...she must have a big brain like her dad) She likes books, and duckies, and things that make sound (much to Dorri's dismay) she loves her bath, her grandma, pictures, kids, cheerios and cuddling with her mom or dad. Lately she's been giving the best hugs, she gives kisses (sometimes open mouth, sometimes closed) she is good at blowing kisses (or at least kissing her hand) she still sleeps like a champion, going to bed between 8 and 8:30 and sleeping until 7. We are still working on sippy cups. She has to drink her afternoon milk in a sippy, and then we'll slowly work her 10:00 milk to a sippy and then lastly her morning and night servings. She has three full teeth in and one that's poked through her gums. Still no top middle teeth yet though. She is cruising around like crazy these days and has recently put it together that she can come find us if we leave the room. Still no hands and knees crawling, just arms and toes but whatever works for her is fine by me. She has mastered going from lying down to sitting up. To accomplish this she pushes herself through middle splits. She is the absolute joy of her daddy and mommy's lives!

We had her 1st birthday party on the 9th in my parents backyard.

 

We had a wonderful potluck Bar-B-Que. Tony helped Bryant smoke three pork shoulders that were absolutely delicious! We had salads and chips and veggies and fruit and plenty of drinks. After dinner, we opened all of her wonderful presents. She got new toys and new clothes and a new night light and CD player to play her lullabies when she is falling asleep. After presents we pulled out the desserts.

I made her cake and then we also had cupcakes, Oreo truffles and ice cream or sherbet. Needless to say there was plenty of food. Juliet, of course, got her own cake too. She first gave it a kiss, then was fascinated by the candle. I helped her break a chunk of it off. She gave me a taste and then at the big chunk of cake. After that she was finished and so she threw the entire cake off her high chair.

We also celebrated the following Sunday at Great Grandma Browns house. I hung up her birthday banners again and made chocolate and white cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting (that got rave reviews even from the tough critics!) She got some super cute Juicy Couture pajamas, some more books and cheerios and take along cups. She is one loved girl.

In other news, Bryant started a new job this week! He felt his time at ARUP, had served him all that it could and it was time to move on. He will now be working a for Veritas Funding, we hope it will be a better fit for him in this next year. Me, well I'm still me. Working and working. I tried to pull out all my craft skills for Juliet's birthday and boy was I a crazy person (maybe that's why crafting all the time isn't for me) My primary just had their program and once again I think we pulled it off (especially since we have eight primary children)

On the 24th of August, we went up to see the new Brigham City Temple. Before we were able to get onto the freeway to come home, we were rear ended pretty good. Being in a car accident is a scary enough experience on it's own, having your kid in the car takes it to a whole new level! Our poor little Nissan looked like this...

We had to have it towed, but luckily everyone in all three cars (because we were tapped into the car in front of us) walked away with just some serious stiffness in our backs. Progressive was great to work with us and got us a rental car the next morning and we drove that around for almost three weeks until the Nissan was repaired and returned to us. Luckily for us/well Bryant, the back window was not broken, so they were able to reinstall it so Bryant didn't lose his treasures Ragnar sticker!

 

A lot of stuff is coming up in the schedule, so hopefully I'll bring my camera along with me and will keep you all caught up.
